WHO'S WHO

Stan Buturla* (Ernst Cassirer) Acting experience includes such roles as Coriolanus at the Soho Rep, The Duke in Measure for Measure and Teddy in The Homecoming at Classic Stage Company and Smirnov in Checkov’s The Bear at the original Manhattan Theater. He has also performed the role of Dr. Dorn in Checkov’s Seagull at The Abingdon Theater and Theater Lab. He played the role of Mark Erdman in Iddo Netanyahu’s play A Happy End at CCNY. He has also appeared at The Metropolitan Theater as Dr. Dexter in The End of Summer directed by Alexander Harrington. His latest theatrical performance was also at Theater for the New City where he performed in the play One Drop written by Pulitzer Prize nominee Andrea Fulton. Hehas appeared on TV and acted in many independent films. He is happy to be back at Theater for the New City and working with Alexander Harrington again!

Alexandra O’Daly* (Elfride Heidegger) is a NYC based actress and producer. Theatre credits include: Lucy Warriner in Metropolitan Playhouse’s production of The Awful Truth, Bedroom Farce (FAPC Theatre Fellowship),The Henrietta (Metropolitan Playhouse), Manuscripts Don’tBurn (Figment Festival on Governors Island), Cries and Whispers (Terra Firma Theatre Company). Film and TV: Blue Bloods (CBS), Holy Blood (Noe Kidder), and Host of A&E network’s Biography for Kids. Alexandra has both starred in and co-produced several films including Redwood, a feature film by artist Molly Lowe and Old Habits (Best Actress nom.,Grapevine Film Festival), written and directed by Sophia Ellsberg. A born and raised New Yorker, she attended LaGuardia High School for Performing Arts and received her BFA in acting from The Theatre School at DePaul University, Chicago. Alyssa Simon* (Hannah Arendt) is thrilled to be a part of this production. Thank you, Alec for theopportunity. She worked with Mr. Harrington previously this year in Plaza Suite (Karen, Norma) at Gallery Players. With an almost twenty year career in New York theatre, she is also a Maste Mason at the Brick Theater and a member of the NYIT award-winning Gemini Collision Works whose upcoming season includes an original work and a revival of the critically acclaimed A Little Piece Of The Sun by Daniel McKlienfeld. Joris Stuyck* (Martin Heidegger) last appeared at Theater for the New City playing Bob Smiley (thinly disguised Bill Clinton) in the satirical musical Heather Smiley for President. Other stage roles in NYC include Bishop Guzmán in The Road to Damascus for the Directors’ Company, Prospero in The Tempest for Hip to Hip, Jack Straw in Guantánamo at the Culture Project, and various Shakespearean roles for NY Classical Theatre. Regional theatrical roles include the title role in Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure (Cincinnati Playhouse), Montano in Othello (D.C. Shakespeare), and Doc in The Medal of Honor Rag (Shadowland). English credits include Mickey in The Normal Heart with Martin Sheen at the Royal Court, Count Tibor in the film The Shooting Party, and lead roles in several British series and miniseries including We’ll Meet Again, Tender Is the Night, and Woman of Substance. U.S. TV credits include Madam Secretary, The Blacklist: Redemption, The Americans and Law & Order, as well as several miniseries, TV movies, and soap operas in the 1990s.

 

Marsh Shugart (Production Stage Manager) is a New York based stage manager and designer. Lianne Arnold (Set and Projections Designer) is a video & scenic designer andinter-disciplinary artist working in theater, opera, music, dance, film & art installation. Her performance work has been seen in New York at The Kitchen, BAM, NYTW, HERE, La Mama, 3LD, Ars Nova, National Sawdust, Roulette among others and in venues around the country and internationally. She was a production designer on the short film Toru premiering at the 2017Sundance Film Festival. She is the co-creator and video designer on the upcoming “Words on the Street” at Baruch. She regularly collaborates with composers and visual artists and hasexhibited work at The Actors’ Fund and BRIC. Lianne was named a "Young Designer to Watch" by Live Design Magazine. Sidney Fortner (Costume Designer) has designed, built and coordinated period costumes for over 20 years, and since 2009 has been Resident Costumer and Costume Manager at Metropolitan Playhouse. Joyce Liao (Lighting Designer) is known for her designs for Broadway's Soul of Shaolin and with Michael Mao and Dancers. She has been Associate Lighting Director and SM for Shen Wei Dance Art. Her recent New York theatrical projects include: Party Face starring Hayley Mills, directed by Amanda Beares; Hero starring Omari Hardwick and The Pill. Other Off-Broadway projects include: Dead Dog Park, The Glass Menagerie, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Breakfast with Mugabe, Final Analysis, The English Bride, Years of Sky and Ethel Sings. Her lighting design on Brothers from the Bottom was nominated for an Audelco Award. Asa Lipton (Co-Video Designer/Associate Scenic Designer) is a NY-based designer, technician, and artist. He has worked on dozens of plays in NYC as a lighting designer, projection designer, and various other roles. Courtney Fenwick (Associate Producer) is a producer, actor, vocalist and writer. She earned her BA in Theater at the College of Charleston in South Carolina, and has been a Theater-making New Yorker for over ten years. As a producer with AntiMatter Collective, her previous projects include The Tower at HERE Arts Center, Demonology, and Motherboard. Other notable projects: Killer Joe and A Number (Pure Theatre), The Will-A-Thon (The Workshop Theater), Blood Wedding (Center Stage), Richard III (The Shakespeare Project), and Telephone/Landscape (Target Margin Theater).
